Your comment is very interesting to me and insightful. One of the reasons we were told that our health insurance was being reduced was so that we would be better consumers. Meaning, we wouldn't go to the doctor over just anything since we knew that it now cost us so much more. Though now, we don't go over practically anything or wait until the situation is worse and therefore more costly. I know coworkers whose kids are almost afraid to get ill or injured because they've been told that it's too expensive and they'll be in trouble if they cause the injury. It's quite the dichotomy.

Those are all pretty tough questions to answer. I am a Canadian, so I have subsidized health care up here. I do pay an amount for some drugs I purchase from prescription, but it's really quite negligible.

Nowhere near the thousands.

And hospital care, and doctor's visits are free..

With that being said, no plan is perfect, because while I am not someone who abuses the plan, there are others out there who are using up my unused cash that I pay in taxes for that plan, (AND MORE) by being healthcare hogs.

That is primarily the reason why I don't like Canada's healthcare. I am basically paying for people who go to the doctor for every little cough and cold without thinking if they really need to or not.

Still, I'd rather have Canada's plan, than the United States'. That one sounds far worse.
